Ellie Goulding is readying her next era, confirming details of her sixth studio album I Know Too Much.
Due for release on Sept. 4 via Polydor, the announcement arrives alongside confirmation of a new single, “Black Prada Dress,” arriving this Friday (June 5). A tracklist for the record is yet to be released.
The new track was first introduced during Goulding’s main stage set at Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Sunderland last month (May 23), before being lined up for a televised performance on Later… with Jools Holland, airing June 7 on BBC Two.
I Know Too Much marks Goulding’s first full-length album since 2023’s Higher Than Heaven, which debuted at No. 1 on the Official U.K. Albums Chart, bringing her level with Adele for the British female solo artist with the most U.K. No. 1 albums in history, according to the Official Charts Company.
On the other side of the Atlantic, meanwhile, the 39-year-old has remained one of the most consistent modern British pop exports on the Billboard Hot 100. Across her career, she has secured multiple chart entries, including the No. 3-peaking hit “Love Me Like You Do” and 2011’s “Lights,” which climbed to No. 2, alongside collaborations with Swae Lee, Juice WRLD, Diplo, Calvin Harris and more.
The forthcoming record arrives amid viral momentum for Goulding online. Breakout track “Starry Eyed” topped the TikTok Trending Audio chart earlier this year, having resurfaced on the platform through trends spanning nostalgic fan edits and travel clips, and in turn spurring renewed streaming interest across her back catalog.
Elsewhere, beyond its No. 1 placement in the U.K., Higher Than Heaven spawned one of Goulding’s biggest hits in the form of Calvin Harris collab “Miracle” — the pair’s third team-up to date. The trance banger landed the singer her fourth U.K. No. 1 single and a Grammy nomination for best dance pop recording, and also featured in Billboard’s 30 Best Dance Songs of 2023 list.
