Miranda Lambert‘s MuttNation Foundation has teamed up again with Tractor Supply Co. to help rescue shelters and animals across the country.
Together, they are donating $255,000 to animal welfare organizations, and through MuttNation’s annual Mutts Across America program, one animal shelter or foster-based rescue in each state is being celebrated with a surprise $5,000 grant. Additionally, there is a “Wildcard” pick shelter — to honor Lambert’s Grammy-winning album of the same name — that will receive a grant as well.
“Mutts Across America is one of my favorite MuttNation programs because it lets us show our appreciation to the people at the shelters who are doing the hard work every day,” Lambert said in a statement. “And to make it even more special, the grants are always a surprise — there’s no way to apply or be nominated. Tractor Supply has been such an amazing partner, and we’re so grateful for their commitment to MuttNation and to shelter pets across the country.”
The Mutts Across America initiative was launched more than a decade ago by Lambert’s mother, Bev, and has supported more than 600 shelters, giving $2.5 million-plus in grants. Tractor Supply began its partnership with MuttNation in 2021.
“At Tractor Supply, caring for pets and animals isn’t just part of our business — it’s core to who we are,” Kimberley Gardiner, senior vice president, chief marketing officer at Tractor Supply, said in a statement. “While we’ve partnered with local and national shelters for decades, our work with MuttNation allows us to deepen that commitment in truly meaningful ways. Together, we’re expanding our reach to drive critical support for the vital work these shelters do every day.”
The grants aid shelters including California’s Marley’s Mutts Dog Rescue, New York’s ARF Hamptons, Tennessee’s Team Memphis Rescue and Support and Florida’s Satchel’s Last Resort Animal Shelter/Rescue. The “Wildcard” pick is Animal Preservation of East Texas.
Beyond the Mutts Across America partnership, MuttNation and Tractor Supply also launched the Relief for Rescues Fund in 2023, to help shelters and pets recover from natural disasters. The fund helped with recovery initiatives in Texas and Tennessee this year following floods in those areas, as well as aided organizations in Kentucky when tornadoes hit areas of the state. The fund has generated more than $2.2 million to date and offers year-round recovery support for natural disasters.
